The department of Micro Technology and Medical Device Technology (MIMED) of the Technische Universität München is specialized on Precision Engineering, Micro Technology and Medical Device Engineering. The department takes part in many national and international research programs and is a strong partner in contract research for the industry.
Since 2005, MIMED integrates the longtime experience of the two teams of Professor Emeritus Dr.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Joachim Heinzl, 1978-2005, and Professor Dr. Tim C. Lueth, Humboldt-University Berlin, 1997-2005.
The research labs are located at the new Mechanical Engineering Campus at Munich-Garching and the University Hospital. The team is active in research (Projekte Forschung) and teaching (Projekte Lehre).
